It looks like you can paint with anything and the only limitation is your imagination. Just like Norway-based Croatian tattoo artist Dino Tomic, creates impressive painting with a material that’s a staple of any cupboard: table salt.
Working on a giant piece of black paper, Tomic crafts illustrations of animals, flowers and portraits with a plastic squirt bottle with the ubiquitous granular substance. By varying the amount of salt he applies, Tomic is able to give his artwork a balance of light and dark areas as well as a sense of realism. Honestly, I can’t even imagine how to paint with salt, because they small granules can be easily moved by any touch. You have to draw and make sure you don’t ruin the finished part by accidently touch. If you are as curious as I am, don’t miss the video at bottom which shows how Tomic paints with salt in live.
